Poro is one of our highest lots, measuring 2,094 meters at its highest point, producing some of our most distinctive and powerful coffees. Named after the Poro or Palo Santo trees planted in this area, and native to the forests of Panamá, this lot tends to be productive year after year. The Poro trees themselves proved to be so beneficial to the coffee trees under them that we have since planted many hundreds more throughout Finca Sophia. This lot is a beautiful representation of washed Geisha, picked right at the peak of harvest.

| Process Description: | Cherries from Poro at 2094 MASL were carefully harvested on April 3, 2025 and washed to remove impurities and floaters. After pulping, the beans underwent a 36-hour dry fermentation, followed by a thorough washing to ensure the complete removal of mucilage. They were then taken to African beds for 12 days of pre-drying, before completing their slow and even drying in the darkroom until reaching 10.5% humidity. |
